2015 GP5 HONDA FIT HYBRID HATCH.
This is the Hybrid version of the very popular 3rd generation Honda Jazz hatchback, which is sold here in non Hybrid form by Honda Australia from 2013-2019.
It is available in 4 trim/spec levels. They are Basegrade, F Package, L Package & S Package.
The Fit Hybrid uses Honda’s Earth Dreams 1.5-liter Atkinson cycle DOHC i-VTEC engine paired with a 7-speed DCT (dual-clutch transmission) and an internal high-output motor (which all drive the front wheels) as well as an IPU (Intelligent Power Unit) with lithium-ion battery, electric servo braking system with variable servo ratio control.
Unlike the previous generation Fit IMA Hybrid (which was a parallel hybrid), this new generation is a proper hybrid (similar to Toyota’s Hybrid vehicles) where it can now run fully on electric power for short distances & in stop start traffic.
The vehicle can switch between petrol and electric power whenever needed (also depending on the particular requirement at the time). The vehicle can also drive in pure electric vehicle mode (EV mode) for a few kms at a time. When the hybrid batteries require charging, the petrol engine will start up and recharge the onboard batteries.
This makes the new model very economical and has a claimed average of @ 2.7-3.0L/100km. This figure of course, is dependent on driving conditions.
