Hyundai has unveiled its 2024 i30 Sedan, with the new model featuring refreshed styling, updated features and the option of an efficient Hybrid powertrain. The latter offers fuel economy as low as a claimed 2.8-litres/100km.

The addition of the hybrid (which pairs a 32kW electric motor powered by a 1.32kWh battery to a 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol engine) marks the first time there’s been three engine choices.

A 2.0-litre MPi and the 1.6-litre T-GDi petrol unit make up the balance of the range. In other changes, the Active entry level variant is now simply called the i30 Sedan, and is joined by Elite and Premium, N Line and N Line Premium.

Additions include LED headlights and DRLs, front and rear parking distance warnings, a more advanced forward collision avoidance assist, and intelligent speed limit assist. At the same time, the entry variant introduces 16-inch alloy wheels and black cloth seats.

The Elite adds Bluelink connected car services, an electro-chromatic interior mirror and an LED rear positioning light. The i30 Sedan Premium gets parking collision warning, Bose premium audio and blind spot and surround view monitoring.

It grabs projection style LED headlights and taillights, and a heated steering wheel. For 2024, the i30 Sedan N Line and N Line Premium variants are available exclusively with the SmartStream G1.6 T-GDi, paired with a 7-speed dual clutch transmission.

Both score an aggressive exterior treatment, 18-inch alloy wheels, and black leather seats with red highlights. Inside, the i30 Sedan’s unique wrap-around dashboard and centre console, paired with large digital displays creates a cockpit-lie aesthetic.

Highlights include a revised wireless charging pad for larger mobile phones, front and rear USB-C outlets, a customisable, multifunction button on the steering wheel and a newly designed, segmented 4.2-inch digital instrument cluster on the entry i30.

Colours include Atlas White, Fluid Metal, Amazon Grey, Abyss Black, Ultimate Red and Intense Blue. The entry level variant gets Ecotronic Grey exclusively, while the N Line comes in Cyber Grey, with Meta Blue offered for the Elite and Premium variants.

The base i30 is offered from $29,000 with the 2.0-litre motor and CVT transmission. The Elite and Premium are priced at $33,500 and $38,500 respectively. The N Line and its Premium sibling are priced at $36,000 and $41,500.

In the case of the hybrid, it’s entry level price is $33,000, with the Elite and Premium prices still to be advised. All prices are plus on-roads.
