Peugeot hoping to seize market share with hybrid 308 GT
Set to mark part of French car maker Peugeot's shift to an all hybrid line-up, pre-orders on the 2025 308 GT Hybrid have opened, with the new model to be priced from $48,990 plus on-roads. Due here in Q1 next year, it’s powered by a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol three-cylinder hybrid engine.
That powertrain delivers 100kW of power and 230Nm of torque. It’s expected to offer 4.0-litres/100km in terms of fuel economy. Featuring a very French design, embracing Peugeot’s new “Power of Allure” language, the new 308 GT arrives with a stunning colour palette.
That includes Obsession Blue, and grabs twin chrome exhaust tips and full matrix LED headlights. Fang-shaped LED DRLs are paired with full LED 3D rear lighting to create a striking claw like effect, while inside, Peugeot’s i-Cockpit features.
It's complemented by a heated sports steering wheel in full grain leather with Adamite green stitching and GT badging. The seats are tri-material Alcantara, with dual 10-inch digital displays providing for the instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system.
The latter supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and there’s cord free phone charging as well. Automatic dual zone climate control air conditioning, a smartphone cradle, premium sound system, four USB ports (two front and two rear) and a 360-degree camera setup, complete the package.
Safety tech includes blind sport detection, lane departure warning with unmarked road edge detection, semi-autonomous active lane following assist, advanced driver attention alert, traffic sign recognition and adaptive cruise control with stop/go.
