Škoda confirms Enyaq Coupé and RS for December

Due to arrive in December, the Škoda Enyaq Coupé and RS  has won multiple awards in Europe, where almost 200,000 have been sold, To be initially available as either a longer range rear-wheel drive Sportline (561km WLTP) or as performance focussed all-wheel drive RS (530km WLTP), it's just been updated.

The mid-life refresh brought an extra 60kW for the Sportline (now 210kW) and a further 30kW to the RS for 250kW – making it the most powerful production Škoda to date. Priced from $69,990 plus on-roads, the Sportline is also available with a $6,000 Ultimate Pack.

That adds an augmented reality head-up display, adaptive chassis control, Canton sound, area view, and heated rear outboard seats. It also provides for a heat insulating windshield, intelligent park assist and the distinctive ‘Crystal Face’ LED grille.

Starting at $83,990 plus on-roads, the Enyaq RS includes the Ultimate Pack as standard and, of course, its hot hatchback performance. The mid-life optimisation also extended the range and boosted DC charging to 175kW. Charging to 80 per cent now takes 28 minutes.

Unlike the batteries that equip some more familiar BEVs, the Škoda Enyaq’s are built with individually repairable modules that remove the need to replace the whole battery in the event of an internal component failure.

Among the hero features on the new model is that augmented reality HUD we mentioned earlier, which conveys speed, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, front assistant functions and Apple Maps direction on iPhone and Google Maps for Android in a unique way.

Both variants come with wireless phone charging, metallic paint and a panoramic sunroof. Regenerative braking can be applied by degree with the steering wheel paddles, and Mode 2 and 3 charging cables are standard.

The coupé shape is built on modular underpinnings for superior aerodynamics, contributing to the Sportline’s 6.7 second and the RS’s 5.5 second 0-100km/h sprint time. Unusually in this class, the RS has adjustable suspension.
