This is the 4th generation of Lexus’ flagship LS model range, which was in production from 2006-2017.
This particular version is the Hybrid ‘long wheel base’ model, with more legroom for the rear occupants, the safety of permanent All-Wheel-Drive & Lexus Hybrid technology for more fuel efficient motoring.
The vehicle can switch between petrol and electric power whenever needed (also depending on the particular requirement at the time). The vehicle can also drive in pure electric vehicle mode (EV mode) for a few kms at a time. When the hybrid batteries require charging, the petrol engine will start up and recharge the onboard batteries.
The LS600HL is powered by a 5.0 Litre 2UR-FSE V8 petrol engine with Atkinson cycle petrol engine and electric motor which is mated to a e-CVT transmission (with 8 steps), which Lexus calls the ‘Lexus Hybrid Drive.’
Power is sent to all 4 wheels, giving you the safety of All-Wheel-Drive grip.
This particular car is the special ‘4 seater’ Separate Seat Package’ variant, which features 2 rear seats, separated by a centre console that includes a popout table, as well as separate electric seat, climate & entertainment controls.
